Area 88 was a popular manga in the early 80's, and there's a number of games based on it. You play as a squad of mercenary airmen in a fictional middle-eastern country (but with real models of aircraft, it would appear) It plays as a pausible real-time strategy, where you engage various enemy forces. There's a rather detailed guide with pictures over on GameFAQs, and all control is with the mouse (Right-click during the rather long intro to skip it)
