Mages using summoning magic blow up the world trying to summon something colossal. Centuries later, it appears someone is at it again, and it's up to Lancelot and Fina to stop it, and prove their master's innocence. There's… a lot more exposition that that, the intro, both before the title screen, and a separate one once you start the game, go on for some time. Control is via the mouse, and both overland movement and combat encounters happen in an isometric view. Combat encounters are random (i.e. not visible on the map) and send you to a tactical grid view where you control your human characters and various summons.
