Glodia is the developer here, Popcom is credited in the opening. It's a top-down RPG that drops you right into the game, and allows you to recruit characters you meet. Combat goes to a second screen, where it takes place automatically, for the most part. Controls are via the arrow keys. It was released on both the PC-88 and the PC-98 (There was a X68000 version as well,) which probably accounts for the relatively crude graphics.
