/----------- ZYOJYU Guide ------------/ By Ryo-Cokey Starting the game, after the credits you come to a black screen with a menu in the foreground. The options are, from top to bottom: New Game Continue Game Load Game Change drive? View CG Upon starting a new game, you'll find yourself at the main command menu, in ASSP HQ. The options are listed from top to bottom: Information - Background info on the characters, the game, etc. Goes to a sub menu, the only item of interest in the bottom option, which goes through all the CG from the missions. Lounge - Between campaigns, you can go to the lounge and talk to the girls in your squad. Sometimes (I believe this is level- dependant) you'll get an offer for h-scenes, which you should accept using the left (yes) button. After the scene, the girl will get her secondary weapon. Lounge isn't active until after you've finished the simulations, and isn't available during a campaign. Medical - Get all your girls restored to full health after a campaign, and level them up from experience. Just visit it once after each campaign. Save - Save your game. Load - Load your game. Options - Adjust various game options, such as sound settings. Start Campaign - Go off to the game proper... more on this later. Start Simulation - Greyed out after you've completed all simulations, these training missions are required before you can get into the real game. Quit - Exit the game. First of all, you won't be able to play the campaigns right after starting the game, you'll have to beat a number of simulations first. You can select these with the second to bottom. There is no penalty for losing the simulations. This sends you to the character selection screen. You may send 6 of your 8 girls into combat at one time. Check on the box next to them to select them. If you have a secondary weapon available, this will pop up a box asking you if you wish to change weapons. The first option is no, the second sends you to the selection box. Once in combat, you click to select each of your girls. This will send you to movement mode, where the squares you can move to are highlighted, and the rest grayed out. To move, just click on the destination square, to stay put, just click on yourself again. After moving, it'll ask you if that's really your move, so hit the top button to confirm, or the second to start again. After moving, you may fire at any valid targets. Once all your girls have moved, the enemy will automatically move. If you have charactes you don't want to move, hit the second option in the corner to end your turn. If any of your girls go to 0 hp, they are removed from the field, and aren't available for the rest of the campaign. Other than that, damage is healed after every combat. In addition to killing all of the enemies to win, you also generally have to do it within a certain number of moves. The time limit is listed in the upper right, and varies from 30 turns to as little as 15. Your girls will also occasionally remark upon the time, at 1/2 time left, etc. Generally, a level will include recognizable boss monsters. These will give a h-pic when first shot at, and another when defeated. Some levels include multiple, and others don't include one at all. Finally, the ASSP "Base" will occasionally appear on the map. For these missions, you have to keep the base from being destroyed. It is very easily damaged, and often this can be more difficult than defeating the monsters themselves. CHARACTER REVIEW: ----------------- (You can find the names of characters under the information option, second selection on the submenu) Alpha Primary: TF-1 RIFLE Secondary: GL-6 A-GRENADIER A fairly good character, she's a decent sniper early in the game, but a switch to her secondary provides a lot more close-up firepower. Kind of fragile, so keep her off the front lines. Misa Primary: K-247F AUTO Secondary: MOLECULE-CUTTER A rather bland character early on, her secondary allows her to become another front-line fighter, which greatly increases her worth. She's rather easily hit though, so you need to be careful. Mikako Primary: MT-216 ASSAULT Secondary: TF-27 SNIPER A good sniper, she moves fairly fast, and has high accuracy and range. She remains such throughout the game, and is best kept back from the front lines, with a clear shot. She has low HP and is fairly easy to hit. Ayumi Primary: MT-002 REVOLVER Secondary: A301 L3 SHOTGUN A fast and versatile character, she has a short-ranged missile attack, and is excellent at dodging enemy shots. Throughout the game she was my highest level character. Her secondary weapon is a slight upgrade to her primary, but otherwise makes little difference. If she has a weakness, it's probably her low HP. Marie Primary: DFS-40G SMG Secondary: MF-225 BATTLE Along with Haruka, she's probably the character to leave behind during missions. Her weapon is fairly accurate, but doesn't do a great deal of damage, and has a minimum range of two. Her secondary is only a slight upgrade, and she's rather easy to get killed. Amagi Saeko Primary: HF-BLADE Secondary: MOLECULE-CUTTER Probably the best character in the game, she should be part of your force at all times. A fast, frontline fighter, she also is almost impossible for the enemy to hit, allowing her to soak up shots. Her secondary is merely an upgraded version of her original melee weapon, and you should switch to it as soon as she gets it. Haruka Primary: A301 L3 SHOTGUN Secondary: FS-558 S-SHOOTER She just sucks. There's no way around it. While this is usually a good thing in an h-game, I mean in terms of combat potential. Her weapon is fairly damaging, and her accuracy ok, but she's very slow, and has no dodge ability whatsoever. Her weapon also has short range, forcing her to get up close, where she usually gets waxed. Her secondary weapon does a lot of damage, but makes her even slower, and has accuracy problems. Miyuki (MV-11) Primary: W-ZACK M-VALCAN Secondary: MG-97 7.62mm LMG Pilot of the MV-11 body armor, she combines durability with great firepower. Her main disadvantage is a poor dodge, and very low speed. Her secondary weapon isn't just a gun change, the suit itself gains flying, making it much faster and able to fly over some obstacles. On the minus side, she can no longer shoot enemies at point blank.
